Sleeping often turns into a puzzle during pregnancy – that's normal.

What eases things for many

  • Lying on the left side is often described as comfortable because it supports circulation.
  • A pillow between the knees and one under the bump reduce strain on the back.
  • A nursing pillow or a rolled-up blanket can replace an expensive pregnancy mattress.

Being gentle

  • If you wake up lying somewhere else: no drama, just roll back over.
  • For heartburn: prop your upper body up slightly.
  • For severe pelvic pain, shortness of breath or dizziness, speak to your midwife or gynaecologist.

No bed is perfect – take whatever feels good tonight.
