Sleeping often turns into a puzzle during pregnancy – that's normal.
What eases things for many
- Lying on the left side is often described as comfortable because it supports circulation.
- A pillow between the knees and one under the bump reduce strain on the back.
- A nursing pillow or a rolled-up blanket can replace an expensive pregnancy mattress.
Being gentle
- If you wake up lying somewhere else: no drama, just roll back over.
- For heartburn: prop your upper body up slightly.
- For severe pelvic pain, shortness of breath or dizziness, speak to your midwife or gynaecologist.
No bed is perfect – take whatever feels good tonight.
