In Europe, RSV season usually runs from autumn to spring – and a few routines can help you move through it gently.
Protecting everyday life
- Wash hands before every contact, visitors too.
- Avoid crowded indoor spaces, enjoy fresh air outdoors.
- Kindly reschedule visits from anyone with a cold.
With older siblings
- After daycare or school: wash hands first, change into fresh clothes, then bonding.
- Practise sneezing and coughing into the elbow.
Medical guidance
- Discuss with your paediatrician and the preemie follow-up team whether specific protective measures (e.g. antibody prophylaxis) might be an option for your child.
- For breathing difficulties, bluish-greyish skin or refusal to feed, call the emergency number (112) immediately.
Protection is allowed to feel relaxed – you don't have to live in isolation.
